Sub Station Yard & Control House— Buxton, ME

Owner: Central Maine Power

Contract Amount: $1.54 million

Completed: 2008

This project was a major expansion to the Buxton substation yard and control house. Wyman & Simpson constructed new 345 kilovolt equipment foundations, cable trench, fence and gates were installed in an energized substation. Foundations required more than 600 cubic yards of precast and cast-in-place concrete. This fast-paced project was completed on time with zero accidents.


Vassalboro, ME

Owner: Central Maine Power

Completion: 2012

Work began on this project in January 2012 and is due to be completed in April 2012. The project includes placement of 20 equipment foundations and a control house foundation. Most of the foundations were precast and set Wyman & Simpson's 80-ton crane. Crews are also installing a precast cable trench and a new fence. By job's end, there will be approximately 150 cubic yards of new concrete at the site .
